Interviewing Services: Questions and Answers

What is this service?

From our location in India, we can interview people anywhere in the world and send you the raw or edited interview. Let us say you want to interview a celebrity or a business guru and publish the interview on your website. You can introduce us to them and leave the rest to us.

What is an interview?

Asking questions and recording the answers. Sounds simple, but a good interview can flow with the responses that the person gives. It is an art to ask the right questions.

Why an interview? Why not just an article?

An interview is a very efficient, effective, versatile and interesting form of communication. When someone with interesting experiences or expert knowledge writes an article, you may forget it. But in case of an interview, you tend to remember more about what is being said.

How do you conduct the actual interview?

We can phone, chat or email the person to be interviewed. Our editor will then put the transcript into an appropriate format and send it to you.

Why should I outsource interviewing?

To save you time, money and get quality results from our experienced writer/editors.

What kind of interviews can you do?

Almost any kind. From celebrities to scientists, we can interview anyone you ask us to. Our writers come from all backgrounds and we can assign the perfect interviewer for your project.

Who determines the questions?

It’s up to you. You can just tell us the results that you want or if you want to be more specific, give us the exact questions. If you want us to frame the questions ourselves then you just need to help us understand your audience and goals for the interview.

What are the modes of interviews and some pros and cons?

In person interview – we don’t generally take up this kind of interview since it does not fit our outsourcing model.
Phone interview – This makes it easy for the interviewee. If the person uses email then we can email some questions in advance and get some preliminary information including scheduling a time according to their convenience.
Chat interview – This is fine but a bit tedious for the interviewee. It does allow similar interaction as the phone interview. It gives us the added advantage of already having the transcript documented. It also lowers costs by using the Internet instead a long distance call.
Email interview – This is easy for us but harder for the interviewees because they have to take time to type answers. Because of this, communication can break down and the interview may be delayed. On the positive side it gives the interviewee the advantage of being able to answer at their convenience.

What is your interview process?

We follow a typical interview pattern.

  • Ask about the person and her/his background and profile; get credentials, photo, title, etc.; ask questions according to the audience and goals.
  • Delve deeper by asking the interviewee for his/her perspectives.
  • Summarize.
  • Finally go back and make sure nothing important has been missed and ask if there is anything that should have been asked.

Our editors are good listeners. To make sure they are connecting with the interviewee, if an answer is unclear, they rephrase the answers into a question and ask the interviewee if that is what he/she meant.

What are the steps to getting started?

Let us know your goals for the interview and we will give you a rough quote. Please feel free to ask any other questions at this time. If everything is agreed upon, then we will send you a questionnaire for you to complete so that we can give you a final quote. If you accept this quote then once we get payment, we will start working for you.

We prefer to start long-term projects with pilot projects. This gives us a chance to learn how to work together and we are able to refine our pricing. This also gives you a chance to cautiously enter into a long-term relationship with an initial small commitment and low risk.

How do I pay?

We accept major credit cards or wire transfer to our Indian bank.
