SUMMARY
The prevalence of malaria in India is explained on a single PowerPoint slide which includes information about the states of India and the regions affected by malaria. It is proven that 9 species out of the 45 anopheline ones have been incriminated as malaria vectors in India. In 1935, it was estimated that at least 100 million people are annual victims of malaria in India. The mortality was assumed to be 0.8 million per annum. The National Institute of Malaria Research, founded in 1977, aims at seeking short-term and long-term solutions to this problem, by conducting basic, applied and field research. NIMR has 10 field laboratories across India that are attempting to find a cure for malaria. This presentation is editable in PowerPoint; the image can be ungrouped and the map can be edited and reused for presentations or as aid for classroom teaching.
