SUMMARY
India has three main geological regions: the Himalayas, the Peninsula and the Ganges-Brahmaputra Lowland. The Himalaya range marks the country’s northern boundary and climatically limits India from other Asian countries. Few of the world’s highest peaks are in the northern mountains, such as the Kanchenjunga and the Nanda Devi range. The Peninsula is a large stable mass of eroded and weather-beaten, ancient crystalline rock. The Ganges-Brahmaputra Lowland is a major alluvial plain carrying some of India’s chief rivers to the sea. “Topography in India” is a PowerPoint presentation containing data about the topography of India on a single slide. Moreover, this presentation also covers the five major physical-economic zones in India, namely the the Himalayas, the Peninsula, the Ganges-Brahmaputra Lowland, the narrow coastal plain along the Arabian Sea and the wide coastal plain along the Bay of Bengal. The image can ungrouped and edited for personal use and is ideal for classroom teaching or presentations.
