Counter-Strike Condition Zero: A Game Review
You have survived Medal of Honor, you have completed your Call of Duty, now try to remain alive for ... hmmm... 5 min in Condition Zero. Welcome to the newest version of Counter-Strike. You play as a terrorist or counter terrorist, or just watch as a spectator, if you want to know the nitty- gritty of the map. Knowing the map helps - you really don't want to wander around like a tourist. Depending on the team that you choose to be in, you are given two kinds of tasks - plant/defuse the bomb or guard/rescue hostages. Every enemy that you kill earns you money. You use that to buy equipment & gear. You have to of course, survive the round to keep the equipment that you may have purchased. Before the game begins, you have 5 seconds to buy what you want. If you are clicking away to buy them, consider this- Do you want to be left behind facing a bunch of murderous terrorists? Learn the keyboard shortcuts. Communication is a key factor. You can communicate to your team mates, by pressing the z,x,or c buttons- which bring up menus. Again, familiarity with the menu shortcuts can save you from becoming frag-bait. CSCZ is a team game, you survive as a group, unless you happen to have a small head or/and you are “Billy, The Kid”. However, if you are dead, the game allows you to watch it from different angles. Now this is very educative, since you can make out patterns that bots follow. In the game setting, there are restrictions as to which team you can watch. But by default, it's all bots. This gives the game a very high replay value, since you can device strategies and overcome bot positions. If you are making a killing, you can increase the A level of the bots. Or you can find a server on the net, and join the roaming bands of digital warriors. Condition Zero comes with its own mission pack of Deleted Scenes. It's not a COD, but it's no walkthrough either. As for newbies, you get an IDF Defender - a rifle with a good rate of fire and which holds steady. It's cheap too. As for Counter Terrorists, they get a shield which takes a lot of damage before giving way. The downside of it being you can only use a pistol with it - typically NightHawk. System Requirements:P3 - 800 MHz My Rating: 9 of 10
