Amblee Resort redefines riverside accommodations. The scenic backdrop of the pristine Cauvery River, calmly flowing along the rooms, makes the resort unique. The tranquility one experiences amidst the flowing water is divine and so are the walks within the resort. The entire place is a true eco-friendly abode for all species of flora and fauna. Don’t be surprised to find the rarest of birds chirping just above you or some beautiful fish swimming in the clear water next to your lunch table. Amblee helps you unwind, relax and rejuvenate the natural way.

About our trip:
We drove from Bangalore to Srirangpatna on a beautiful Saturday morning. Little did we expect the drive to be so pleasurable without a single pothole! Amblee Resort welcomed us with the Cauvery flowing along one side of the road and bunches of sugarcane piled up on the other. It resembled an entry to a village farm with lots of ducks, ducklings and rabbits surrounding the gate.

We walked across a small bridge over the calm green waters to reach our room, making us feel like we were on an island. The entire place was a lush green with birds and bunches of flowers peeping out from the woods.

Amblee amidst the water of CaveryThe most terrific moment was when we opened the back door of our room. We witnessed a spectacular picture-perfect scene of a river smoothly flowing below the clouded sky. We also saw a horse grazing in the distance along with a dozen ducks playing around. The scene was so calming that we just spent hours sitting on the balcony. It de-stressed us almost immediately! The traffic, noise, smoky roads and office chaos seemed miles away. The light drizzle added to the beauty, making the whole place look fresh and alive. To get closer to divinity we decided to take a walk in the water. This was possibly the best experience we had! The water was virtually untouched and appeared sparkling clear and pollution-free. We could see the pebbles and rocks studding the riverbed. The current was a little strong and we had an adventurous time reaching a rock in the middle of the stream. It was exhilarating to reach the middle and see water all around us. We spent hours relaxing there with just the soulful sound of flowing water reaching our ears and the gentle splash as it caressed our feet. We felt one with nature.

We were given the option to pick the spot where we wished to have lunch, and this added to our excitement. We chose different locations for all our meals throughout our stay. We preferred packing breakfast and having it on the rock right in the middle of the river. Lunch happened next to the river where we enjoyed seeing the different fish and ducks swimming. Dinner was a private affair, which we preferred to have in our room with the river in the backdrop.

Relaxing in the waterAnother activity we enjoyed at Amblee was fishing. It was a memorable experience. We managed to hook a fish almost each time we dropped the bait in the river. We even managed to hook a big fat one, almost 8 inches long. It was a prize catch, but we dropped it back in the river not wanting to see such a beautiful creature die. Fishing turned out to be a truly relaxing sport for us with satisfying wins.

Boating at Amblee was a different experience. We picked up a coracle style boat, rather than the usual paddle ones, since we felt adventurous. The coracle was dangerously round, but truly fun. It rocked in circles each time we tried to change the direction. By the end we were sure that steering it was tougher than managing our car on one of the jam-packed Bangalore roads!

Amblee gave us a chance to get closer to nature and savor natural beauty without having to go far from the city. It helped us harmonize our senses and prepare for the daily grind with a smile, rather than the usual frown!
