How to Write Effectively for Google
Why Google?Writing for a search engine such as Google requires some expertise. Currently it is the dominant search engine, used extensively by net-surfers of all ages. The primary task for websites, therefore, is to provide information that the search engines, like Google, approve and that visitors will find easy and quick to locate and comprehend. The content should focus on quality as this builds credibility. How do I Write Good Content? You do not have to inundate people with never ending pages of information, but even if you do it should be relevant and informative, rather than redundant. Moreover, it should be written in a crisp and succinct style. Your words have to attract and guide your reader smoothly and carefully to the result he or she is searching for. Nothing more and nothing less. There are certain things that you must do like grabbing your readers’ attention by creating an eye-catching headline and subheadings. However, there is no actual magic formula or secret for good online writing. The visitor must be able to sense the sincerity in your words. By being long-drawn or tedious you end up sounding non committal and unsure. What Does Google Want? The answer to this is really quite simple. Google prides itself on providing some of the most relevant results for people using its facilities. In a nutshell, Google wants what your visitors want. Good quality, informative content. People looking for information and solutions rely on search engines like Google to source possibilities that are worth their effort to visit. Also, it is through the search engines that net-surfers and people become aware of your presence and you increase your visibility. Your content must honestly convince Google that your page is the most relevant for each keyword that you target and deserves a high ranking, so that it lists your page at the top or most frequented listing when a search is made. If you trick the search engine, by using keywords, which are placed in irrelevant content, your success will not last long and when it discovers the trick, it will ban you. Compelling text is a thousand times more important than fancy design. After all, if a fancy page has no substance, it delivers no value. Quality content always does. You need to reinforce through your style and content that you are indeed an authority on what you present – someone who the visitor can trust. The fancy frills and flounces, if need be, should enhance the great quality of your content, but never detract from it. To be successful, the needs of your target group have to be your priority. They do not know who or what can provide them with the information they are seeking, so in your visitor’s eyes you must be the knowledgeable expert who cares. You are the specialist in your field. You probably know things others do not. You might have learned it “on the job” or through your hobby or through education and experience. There’s a good chance you don’t even realize the extent of your knowledge until you start compiling it. Such areas of expertise are valuable to those who need it and when you present it in your own unique style, it will be accepted as trustworthy quality information. This is what search engines like Google want. Honest expression that benefits visitors and boosts their credibility in providing the best search results.
