Amar Chitra Katha was founded in 1967 by Anant Pai in order to educate children (in an entertaining manner, of course) about India’s rich culture and heritage. Though it eventually broadened its scope, Amar Chitra Katha initially featured collections of stories from Indian ethics, mythology, folktales, and history. Published in more than 20 languages, Amar Chitra Katha has now over 400 titles to its credit, making it a household name in India.
