Broadcast your favorite TV programs and DVDs movies throughout your home. Watch DVDs, video clips and more from your computer directly on your big screen TV. Show all your favorite photos stored on your PC with family and friends on any television in your home. Even send the video signal from one TV to another completely wirelessly. All this might sound a bit futuristic. Believe us, with major advancements in technology today, these are certainly possible.

Go Waterproof!
A bathroom used to be a place where we spent very little time – not any more. Today’s hectic schedules have changed that perception. We do spend a reasonable amount of time in the bathroom. So, while you are in the midst of your…ahem, flushing moments, did you ever want to be able to catch up on some breaking news? Or perhaps watch your favorite soap opera or movie, while you were soaking in your bathtub?

Why not add a television set to your bathroom? Well, we do understand that electronics and water don’t go together. But you can certainly consider investing in a waterproof wireless TV, so you don’t have to worry about electrocuting yourself or ruining your electronics. You can buy such waterproof wireless TVs from companies such as NU, Aquavision, Videotree, Ice Box, and so on. And if you are a music aficionado, you might want to consider waterproof MP3 players such as those from NU, Finis, H2O Audio, Oregon Scientific, RCA Lyra, and so on.

Soak and Enjoy
Watching movies while being soaked up in a bathtub is fine. But how about immersing yourself in the bliss of surround sound? Check out bathtubs from companies such as Jacuzzi, Luxor, Neptune, and so on. These companies deal in luxury massage bathtubs with in-built LCD TV. The Hydro Massage Bathtub from Luxor for instance, boasts a 14-inch waterproof LCD TV built into the end, which can be hooked up to a DVD player, set-top TV box or console, and comes with a waterproof remote control.

Some of these bathtubs also boast adjustable air massage jets, adjustable air water jets rimming the side of the bath, underwater light, connection out to boost the bass sound from the TV, dual-padded head-rests, moulded seating, three-way shower hand shower, shampoo and shower gel dispensers. So go on, it’s Christmas. Splurge!

Home Cinema in Bed
Say goodbye to the couch potato and say hello to the bed potato. You can now go to the cinema in your pajamas, stretch out your feet as much as you want and snuggle down into your pillow. The RUF-Cinema (at www.dexterton.com) for instance, looks like something you'd find in the Jetsons' household. It’s a multimedia bed that has its own built-in projection screen that rises and descends with the push of a button. As if this weren't enough, the bed also has an integrated A/V rack that lets you store your game console, DVD player, and set top box.

You can even check out the Play Bay 24/7 from Purely Plasma, which is designed to guarantee that getting up for work in the morning will be even more difficult. This top of the line double bed comes with a high-resolution WXGA 30-inch widescreen LCD TV built into the foot of the bed. It also boasts features such as picture-in-picture and comes with Scart and PC connections for hooking up a range of home entertainment devices. To boost that sound, it features an in-built Mission subwoofer and there’s room to hook up the cute little Mission M-Cube surround speakers, if you like.

What’s Cooking Honey?
It’s Thursday and you have invited a few friends over for dinner in the evening. You get down working in the kitchen – you are making Lamb Chops. Half way through the cooking, you have some doubts. Was it 1 tbsp of garlic paste, or two? What do you do? Well, turn to the internet and Google it out on your tablet PC. Tablet PCs and notebooks are the best bet for places such as kitchen. These devices take up very little space, are easy to handle and are as light as a feather.

With a tablet PC or a notebook by your side, you can even watch your favorite chef impress you by his/her cool culinary skills on YouTube. You can also log onto a variety of web sites such as www.mydigitalkitchen.com, www.tarladalal.com, www.ichef.com, and so on, to learn new recipes and impress your friends with some good, lip smacking food.

If you crave for some entertainment while cooking, you might want to get an Apple iPod and a portable speaker system. Connect the iPod to the portable speaker system and you got your favorite song running in the background, while you cook up your hubby’s favorite dinner. Such portable speaker systems are available from companies such as Apple, Altec Lansing, Creative, and so on. And if you are in the mood for some internet radio, invest in Wi-Fi radio receivers that let you connect to radio stations on the internet wirelessly.

Room-to-Room Entertainment
The PC has indeed become the place you store your digital entertainment such as images, music, and video. Wouldn’t it be great if you could add your favorite recorded TV shows and movies to this list of digital entertainment and access all of this digital entertainment from a different room in your home, instead of just where your PC is located? It’s not that difficult to make it all happen.

Load up your PC with Microsoft’s Windows Vista (Home Premium and Ultimate) operating system, which comes with an application called Windows Media Center. This application allows you to connect your entertainment devices such as TV, music system, PC, gaming consoles and so on, to your home network, so you can access all your content such as images, recorded TV, music, video, and even exclusive online multimedia content anywhere in your home.
