Hiring Indian Content Writers: The Pros and Cons
Today, when foreign companies are outsourcing most of their work, the quality and value for service becomes the prime consideration. Content writing is one of the media where people think of earning quick money and consider it as a valuable pastime. In India, the idea of “work from home,” has caught on to a great extent. People of all age groups have access to a huge number of websites that offer them easy money in return for the content they can provide for the site. One of the advantages of hiring Indian content writers is that they are cost-effective and come in plenty. There is no dearth of writers in a country like India which boasts of rich diversity and talent. India is one of the few countries from where you can get writers from any. They are available at a much more affordable price as compared to foreign writers. It has also been noted that Indian writers show more loyalty to the company they work for for a longer period of time. The availability of human resources and that too in large numbers, has proved to be a great asset to India even though it fares poorly in the Human Development Index (HDI). Online media and other content developing agencies have found it easy to ally with Indian content writers as they are available in plenty and are also capable of producing quality content while adhering to deadlines. What, then, seems to be the problem? Indian Content writers are basically well versed in English (but mostly UK English). Most web developing companies have their parent companies in the USA, so, before hiring Indian content writers, it is very necessary that these companies train them in U.S. English and if possible, a small test to record their grasping power. Secondly, the passion for writing is something that is lacking among Indian writers. Indian writers have a tendency to “copy and paste” from other secondary sources. The sense of originality is dying out among Indian writers, who are very much influenced by foreign writers. The idea of making good money, and that too from home kills, the very notion of “originality.” The hunt for passionate writers is very necessary; writers who have a feel for the subject; writers who write from their heart; writers who don’t just look to fill their pockets. Given the human resource India has to offer to various web companies, it is imperative that they do not lose sight of the importance of hiring quality writers rather than writers that come cheap.
