Visiting San Francisco
Need an editable PowerPoint map of USA The expanse of road leading up to the City gave stealing glimpses of the famous Golden Gate Bridge and once the city was visible, lavish art and architecture followed. The Bridge in itself is something that can not fit into an eyeful, even from that far away. You gape in amazement at the sheer magnitude of the vista. No wonder it has acquired the National Recreation Area tag. Literally a nation full of people could fit onto that! On combing through the Golden Gate Bridge region, one comes across the Park, which includes the Japanese Tea Garden and The Botanical Garden in addition to the Park area. A very Imperial experience. Delving into the city ahead brought us to the San Francisco Skyline. A panorama of Victorian Row houses, Classic Architecture. The city on the whole offers a relaxed, soothing approach to life; enjoy your minutes as you would enjoy the years! People are clad in bright pastel shades. In the Financial District the commuters don’t show so much stress, that’s probably why it has a laidback feel. The hardworking nature of the populace is nonetheless visible, the progress is proof. This is where you can see the Ferry Building towering over the rest. It offers entry to the Financial District; it also is home to a market place with Cafeterias. The city is famous for its sloping roads. Major connecting routes in San Francisco are sloped to a steep angle, these street names end with ‘hill’. You can imagine the sculptural value of this kind of a set up! Now add to this a Cable car service! I must not forget to mention Lombard Street, an eminent tourist spot, where we were supposed to drive down the challenging road (because of a steep slope and a zigzag curvature), specially designed to give a maximum of San Francisco feel. Simply outstanding. Trundling back towards the Bay area, we stopped at the Fisherman’s Wharf. Once more San Francisco bagged the trophy for scenery. The Golden Gate Bridge was crowning the view and white blue boats were nodding at me from the waters. In the distance we could see the notorious Alcatraz Island, an old jail for the naughtier Franciscans. This place was full of souvenirs of the jail island. Little dolls in jailers clothes, plaques that read “I have served my term at Alcatraz”, I wonder why someone would want that adorning their living room.
