It all started when the CEO of Chillibreeze was living in Bangalore and searching to buy a parabolic stove for his home. It was a long hard search back in 2004, but he finally bought a demonstration model of a parabolic cooker from an entrepreneur trying to start a solar stove business. The personal experience set the stage for Chillibreeze aspiring to be amongst the most environmentally friendly companies in India. In this process, Chillibreeze was the first company to install a solar heater in the Shillong, Meghalaya office by studying and observing latitude, longitude, month and time of day to harness the sun’s rays. In this ongoing effort our CEO Ralph Budelman, spoke about the “Greenest Company Challenge” which entails to overview the efforts of all in a community towards conservation. We have practiced cooking using a solar cooker successfully and strongly believe in its far reaching positive effects. And, if popularized can become an affordable cooking medium for all strata of society, can reduce fuel cost and save trees from being cut up for firewood.
