How to Make Your Website Search-Engine Friendly

How to make your website search-engine friendlychillibreeze writerPriyanka Sharma

Designing a website that precisely fits the requirements of an organization while meeting up or even surpassing the expectation of popular search engines may be a quite intimidating chore. The very first step involved in comprehending how to create a search-engine friendly site is to build a website for the users first and for the search-engines second.

The search engines first crawl and then match your website or webpage with search phrases that users enter to get their problems solved or find some value in content. You need to design a website which is an expansion of your business brand, can be navigated easily and talks with audiences in ‘their terms’. Often, the websites that have easy navigational features provoke repeated visits and thus improve overall user experience.

Smart tips to make your website search-engine friendly

  • URL: Relevant, structured, user-friendly and simple URL describe the webpage to users and search engines, are found easily and linked by external pages effortlessly.
  • Title Tag: A title tag is a sign to users and to search engines about the information on the webpage. So, make sure that you create precise and unique title tags for each webpage. Pages with repetitive title tags are often puzzling to readers and also to search engine crawlers, thus increasing click-off rates.
  • Paragraph Headers: These are H1 to H6 header tags that rest at the top of the page or above paragraphs to demonstrate what is to be displayed below. There is no need to make use of all headers. A general rule is to use headers only if the content immediately beneath it calls for an introduction.
  • Meta Description: As with a Title Tag, every webpage calls for a unique meta description. These descriptions should contain search phrases. You need to create the combination of some words, or sentences that describe the webpage accurately.
  • Content: The content must be the primary focus of a website and should be maintained in a proper manner. Feeding the pages with new, fresh content on a regular basis through a blog or by adding new pages will keep the users as well as search engines coming back.
  • Anchor Text: It is one of the most imperative search engine optimization factors because of the stress on the quantity and quality of external links. Anchor text which is related with the links to websites offers ‘topic authority’ for similar searching terms.
  • Internal Links: Major search engine crawlers navigate through a website through links and pages. Users looking for content that exactly matches their search terms will browse other web-pages that are hyperlinked to the webpage that they clicked.

Besides, you should circumvent the excessive use of images as they are not easily readable. No doubt, it is necessary when it comes to presenting different products, but be certain to include ‘Alt tag’ to each webpage and get an accurate description of all images.

Above all, the sites that are designed with the target audience in mind while considering the SEO factors are search engine friendly, and can immensely help you secure a position in the first page of search engine results.
