Stress, being sedentary and an unhealthy lifestyle have become an inevitable part in our quick-fix world. People look for solutions to treat the symptoms rather the cause. Nowadays having a heart problem at the age of 35 is nothing unusual. Hence the question still remains…where are we heading? It is high time a more holistic approach is taken into considered. This is where yoga opens its door. This offers a complete understanding of the concept of yoga and its necessity in every walks of life.

Yoga is a comprehensive discipline directed towards bringing the integrated Self in a union with energy. Its primary aim is to provide mental state of deep meditation and concentration. Yoga is a unified approach to self-development that harmonizes spiritual, mental, physical well being. Yoga is not a remedy to any particular illness rather it is a holistic approach which teaches a new lifestyle and way of thinking to mankind. Yoga should be included in our daily routine as a key to improve our lifestyle. Irrespective of the age, yoga is highly beneficial for all. Physical fitness is the most obvious benefits of yoga. Spiritually as well, yoga offers a greater peace of mind with elevated energy levels. It trains you in copying up with the daily stresses in life. Live life positively, that’s the underlying statement of yoga. It even enables to handle negative emotions in a creative fashion thereby ushering positive aspects to one’s life.

Yoga uses several techniques which enables in attaining absolute peace. Interestingly, yoga contribution to spiritual benefit is immense. In this concept, it is important to mention that spirituality does not necessarily refer only to God but it deals with soul and inner consciousness. Some staunch supporters believe that yoga triggers the energy circles of the body and enables in reaching the epitome of energy. Benefits of yoga include a clear mind, healthy body and cleansed spirit. The command over breath in turn aids in stress management. The improved concentration and clarity of mind enhances the skills and increases productivity. Apart from these basic benefits there are certain advanced benefits which are worth mentioning. These include psychic control, mind control, and thought control. It is believed that yoga practitioners are much more compassionate about their surroundings and fellow beings. The ultimate spiritual benefit of yoga is self realization and rejuvenation of mind can enable one to pave the path to spiritual liberation.

Yoga is a clear reflection of achievement of peace and serenity. Taken into consideration the kind of lifestyle one leads, yoga should be an indispensable part. Kids especially should be taught of its benefits thereby enabling them to inculcate some good values and principles that will help them in the long run. Yoga is also a crucial for enhancement of concentration.

Thus yoga is a key to self-development in every walk of life. The main purpose of yoga is to provide ease in the body through a combination of stretching, holding, breathing, balance, and resistance.
