Five Free Online Tools Every Web Content Writer Must Use

Five free online tools every web content writer must usechillibreeze writer Prama Goswami

A web content writer’s job is never easy as s/he has to incorporate a lot of creativity and research in order to turn in a well-written and informative write-up for a global audience. As a matter of fact, web writers often face several challenges especially while writing about an unusual topic. Obviously, after spending hours researching an incredibly complex topic and writing about it, you wouldn’t want to your article to be replete with syntax errors, spelling mistakes, and plagiarism (which often occurs unintentionally)! To help you cut the editing and reviewing process short, here are five free online tools for all web writers:

  • Google Docs: You saved a half-written document on your home computer and came to office….now you have some spare time in hand and you would like to access it on the office computer! Sounds familiar? Google Docs is a great online document sharing program that allows you to upload your file right from your system desktop, allowing you to then access the document from anywhere with your existing Google ID. Documents can be edited, viewed and shared on Google Docs. You can even access or edit the saved documents on your smart phone! Available formats include documents, presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and drawings.

  • Synchro Edit: Editing is an integral part of web content writing especially if you are somewhat finicky about turning in an error-free piece. Manual editing could be a time consuming and exhausting affair but Synchro Edit offers an easy browser-based editing interface which can be accessed by multiple users from different locations. It precisely synchronizes every single change made to a document so that all users get to see the same version. The dynamic main editor of Synchro Edit features options like italics, bolds, strikethrough, underline, alignments or justifications, listing, and indenting styles. Moreover the editor highlights each user’s changes in a different color and shows a tag with the user’s name to notify which change was made by whom.

  • Merriam-Webster: You can’t deny the role of online dictionaries when it comes to good writing. Of all similar resources, Merriam-Webster is the most knowledgeable one. Also it comes with an easy user interface. Starting from words, synonyms and antonyms, you can find new words, slangs and unique phrases with clear explanations and pronunciation guides here.

  • WordNet: English is an ever-growing language and if you do not want to be left behind by contending writers, keep yourself updated! You can always refer to a free online tool like WordNet that features a colossal database of English. You can find different parts of speech clustered under Synsets (cognitive synonyms) here. You can either use the online version or download the tool for no cost at all. It is really easy to navigate through the alleys of natural language and word processing with WordNet.

  • Dupli Checker: You would never do it intentionally…..but there are times when your sentences exactly resemble some other resources over the Internet and overall it looks like plagiarism! Why not take a moment to get the content checked at Dupli Checker and be rest assured that there is no dishonesty in your work? Dupli Checker is a free online plagiarism checker that allows you to upload the text in its text box or copy paste the words from the source file. It will split each sentence and check through the Google database for replications if any.

Now that you have these fine potent tools handy, writing web content is going to be an easy venture for you. Let your creative instincts flow free and allow the tools to take care of the editing and polishing bit!
