Using Hypnosis to Make Life Easier
I’ve noticed that many people have a lot of misconceptions about hypnosis. I’ve met people who clearly tell me not to look into their eyes when I mention that I’m a hypnotherapist. I’ve known some religious people saying things like “its evil” and “it’s a sin to perform hypnosis.” But why do they say that? Do they even know what hypnosis is? It’s a shame that such misconceptions stop a huge number of people from improving their lifestyles. Did you know that hypnosis can make your life style a lot easier, and that it can help in stress management, stage fear, and management of phobia? We subconsciously use hypnosis everyday in our day to day lives. I’ll give you a small example of hypnosis: close your eyes and visualize the best moment you have ever lived! Feel every bit of that moment. Everybody in that picture. You will soon smile, and when you open your eyes, you will be semi hypnotized already! It’s that simple. Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. It’s a state where a person becomes hyper suggestible. It deals with the subconscious state of the human mind. The difference between meditation and hypnosis is explained below: Meditation:
Before beginning the meditation, the subject is in the level of control stage, where he is awake and conscious of everything that happens around him. When he begins to calm down, he starts going deep into his subconscious. This process takes a longer time, because the subject calms himself down by just keeping quiet. Whereas, in hypnosis, the subject gives its mind orders like “go deep into your subconscious now. And go deeper and deeper.” As a result of this, the mind tends to calm down faster.
In this image, I’ve shown how hypnosis works. Before the subject goes into a trance, he is on the level of control where is very conscious. And then, you trigger the mind by giving it orders. i.e. “Go deep into your subconscious.” The mind follows the order and allows itself to go deeper into the same state as meditation. This is why hypnosis works faster. Myths about hypnosis HYPNOTISTS HAVE SPECIAL POWERS: FALSE! Hypnotists have no special powers at all. NOT EVERYONE CAN BE HYPNOTIZED: FALSE!! Everyone can be hypnotized. It’s just that it takes time for some people to get hypnotized and some get hypnotized sooner compared to the rest. IF YOU’RE STRUCK IN A STATE OF TRANCE, YOU WILL REMAIN THERE FOREVER: FALSE! Our mind goes through a process. Even if a hypnotist leaves you half way through, in just a span of 3 to 4 minutes, you will be able to come back to the state of normalcy. YOU WILL NOT BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS IN A STATE OF HYPNOSIS: FALSE!! You will be well aware of everything when in a trance. YOUR BODY WILL NOT MOVE IF YOU’RE HYPNOTIZED NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY: FALSE! You can move every part of your body when in a state of trance. Your body and mind will be conscious enough to get off the chair in the middle of a session and walk away if you feel like the hypnotist is doing something that he was not asked to do. THE HYPNOTIST WILL MAKE YOU DO AND SAY WHAT YOU DO NOT WISH TO SAY: FALSE! You will not say what you do not want to say even when you’re in a trance. THE HYPNOTIST CAN LOOK INTO YOUR EYES AND HYPNOTIZE YOU EVEN WITHOUT YOUR KNOWING ABOUT IT: FALSE! Hypnotists cannot work on anyone who does not want to be hypnotized. HYPNOSIS IS UNETHICAL, IT’S THE DEVILS ART: FALSE! Neither is hypnosis a devil’s art nor is it unethical. It’s pure psychology. HYPNOSIS is a revolutionary art that can change lives. It helps in almost every aspect of modern life. It’s a great tool for stress management, fear management, pain relief, confidence issues, addiction and almost every aspect of life. Use hypnosis to make life easier.
