Social Media - The Next Best Thing?
Have you visited a website and seen a few buttons that ask you to “share this”. You go blog-walking and you’ll see that just after each blog post there is a share button. These sharing widgets (as they are called) help websites to reach a larger audience than just the regulars. I share, my friends visit, if they share, their friends would. For bloggers this equates to that many more visitors. But what does it mean to Internet Retailers (IR)? It means increased ROI (Return on Investment), better site conversion, but let me keep the marketing jargons aside and explain it in a manner that I first understood it. So let’s say you want to buy a television and because you are one of that net savvy new-age Indian, you decide to make your purchase online. Bombarded with choices and feeling a little left out? No problem! How about you pick a few and share it with your friends and let them help you decide which one is best? Sounds good, huh? Now how about this, you’ve bought something from an online store and you really like it, what’s the fastest way to tell all your friends about it? Facebook and/or Twitter. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. Social media or social commerce is all about using the social networking sites as a tool for increasing sales and revenue. In India there are 2 types of Social Media Agencies: 1. Agencies with major focus on Social Media services, and/or providing SEO, SEM, Web Designing and other services 2. Agencies with major focus on SEO, SEM, Web Designing and others, and/or providing Social Media Services Below given is by no means a complete list of all the agencies in India, it is however an attempt to list out the leaders in the industry.
