How I began my Career as a Writer
Writing is a wonderful art of expressing your creativity in a profound way. Writing skills reveal more than just the content and portray the mindset, convictions and personality traits of the writer. Writing also helps us express our thoughts without any bias and prejudice and lets us explore our hidden potential. For me, writing is healing, a method of effective introspection and a fantastic medium to observe my thoughts rationally. I never thought that I would be a professional writer as I indulged in writing more or less for personal gratification. When I found myself inspired by celebrated and inspiring events my inner thoughts sought to clothe themselves with the garb of vocabulary and expression. People generally resort to different means of stress busters and look out for various avenues to break through the clutches of boredom, inertia, and conventional thinking patterns with absolutely no scope for creativity. However to combat all these, I choose to pick up the pen as the mighty sword to unleash my hidden creative talent and write unceasingly till my thoughts materialized into potent words pregnant with wisdom and a deep sense of understanding. By doing this, I used to discover my own self and sometimes found answers to unasked questions. However, writing has always been a personal experience for me and no one knew that I had this fancy. Just as the fragrance of rose spreads beyond measure in infinite directions no matter how much you try to hold it tight in your clutches, my writing skills had to come into limelight similarly, in an unexpected way when I started working with Multinational companies like HSBC and Citigroup. These companies eventually have a communication department in place and they release monthly journals and send out staffcomm’s to employees on various pressing issues and also aid in documenting many conferences and transcribe meetings on a regular basis. I was working in the Operations Department and had to liaise with the communications team to get our department’s accomplishments and achievements published in the monthly journal. I had to just forward the statistics and events we involved in for review and subsequently one of the writer’s in the communications team would write an elaborate article on it. It so happened that due to work overload the communications team asked us to write our own articles for publishing in the journal. Needless to say I had no other choice but to write about our team accomplishments, achievements, plan of action for the next interim and much more. This first published work of mine was deeply appreciated and acknowledged by one and all. So, I began writing professionally at work and later got a breakthrough as a content writer for a U.S firm, for whom I’ve written number of articles, blogs, press releases, transcripts and SEO related work for almost 2 years. My writing style was sometimes inspired by few authors whose books literally shook me from within. A true inspiration is one that brings about a noticeable transformation in you as a being. Reading about great personalities such as autobiographies of notable seers definitely gives a boost to my writing skills. I found myself more confident and writing, which was once my personal passion became my professional expertise.
