The Expat Question About Vaccinations in India

Q: "One of the biggest challenges for me is I am having my first baby in 7 weeks and when we move over there he will be 4 months old. I am very interested about using a "user-friendly" vaccination guide for my baby (spreading out vaccinations over time rather than the traditional condensed recommended US CDC schedule) If I were living in the states for the first 2 years of his life no problem, my questions would be answered, but moving to India throws in a bit of a wild card. I am really, really nervous and not sure how to go about vaccinating, what of my vaccinations will pass through to him via my milk, what vaccinations he should get prior to going to India and what schedule could I follow once I was there. I know Polio and Small Pox are prevelant over there and Malaria is in the rural parts of the country but not in abundance in Bangalore (I've heard). I am trying to get in touch with any Expats who moved with little babies or children over to India to help me answer some of those aforementioned questions. I thought maybe you might have a good network of people as well as yourself that I could possibly talk with."
