Mini Namaskar eBook Written by Expat member of Mumbai Connexions
You can bring your pet to Mumbai if you follow the pet importation rules. Before you decide to import your pet, however, you should research the process for repatriating your pet to your home country at the end of your India assignment. You may determine that the quarantine requirements (e.g. 6 months of boarding in quarantine for England) would be too stressful for your pet, and that fostering arrangements might be in the pet’s best interest. You will probably need to make a special trip back home to get the pet, as bringing it before you have a permanent address in India would be challenging.
