It is thick, warm, soft, rare and very long lasting. There are several villages about one hour from Shillong that specialize in weaving this silk.
The shawl in this photo is a natural color and is from one of these villages. We hope this unknown silk hits international markets some day and helps the people in these villages gain a higher standard of living.
