Use the crop tool in PowerPoint to trim and remove unwanted portions of pictures, crop a picture to shape or to merge an image with shape.
Image to Shape
To Crop an image to shape, you need to follow these simple steps below:
- Select the Picture
- Go to Picture Format tab
- Under Crop option, select the drop-down arrow
- Select Crop to Shape
- Pick any shape from the list as per your preference
You can also crop to shape more than two images at once by selecting an image and hold the SHIFT key and select the other images in the slide. Then, you need to follow the same steps mentioned above.
Merge the Picture with a Shape
The next part of the video is to merge the picture with shape. For this, you will have to use the Merge Shapes tool in PowerPoint.
- Select the image
- Go to Picture Format tab
- Under Send Backward option, click on the drop-down arrow
- Select Send to Back
- Select the shape by holder the shift key
- Go to Shape Format Tab
- Under Merge Shape, click on the drop-down arrow
- Click on Intersect
* Fun Fact the Merge Shapes feature is known as Combine shapes in PowerPoint 2010 version.
